A deck of cards was created for ten books that utilize the structure of the hero's journey, also known as the monomyth. This structure contains twelve rudimentary steps. The hero begins the novel missing something crucial, departs from their ordinary world for an adventure, and returns transformed.
This tool is to be used by 8-12th graders to solidify a foundational understanding of content and build upon it to promote critical thinking skills. This objective aligns with the college and career-ready standards of various states' education departments.
