April Incidents 2022

REPORT OF A GAS SMELL  04/28/2022

Parkhurst employee reported smelling gas while inside the Meyerhoff dining area.  No Gas leak discovered. 

TRESPASS  04/24/2022

A male was found trespassing in the parking lot of Leake. The male was escorted off campus. 

ASSAULT (NON-MICA)  04/20/2022

Two men were fighting in the 100 block of McMechen. The men dispersed the area upon officers arrival.

POSSIBLE GUN SHOTS  04/20/2022

A student reported hearing gun shots on Falls Road. Officers checked the area and could not locate any evidence to support the call. 

INTOXICATED PERSON  04/20/2022

An intoxicated adult male was located standing outside of 1515. The male was moved along and was not associated with MICA.

LARCENY  04/15/2022

A student reported having their cell phone snatched from their hands while at Park and Lafayette Streets. The male suspects left the area on an electric scooter.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE  04/15/2022

A person was discovered in the 200 block of McMechen street in need of medical assistance. The person was not affiliated with MICA.

PROPERTY DAMAGE MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT  04/14/2022

A MICA shuttle damaged a vehicle that was parked on McMechen Street.

GUN SHOTS  04/14/2022

Occupants in two separate vehicles exchanged gun fire while at the intersection of Mount Royal and Lafayette Streets. Baltimore City Police responded and MICA Campus Safety assisted. No physical injuries reported. 

DAMAGED PROPERTY  04/14/2022

A computer was accidentally damaged by water inside the Main building. 

MEDICAL TRANSPORT  04/12/2022

Campus Safety provided a medical transport for a student. 

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY  04/11/2022

Graffiti was found on the old Joe Squared building next to the Lazarus Studio. 

ARMED ROBBERY  04/11/2022

A MICA student had their vehicle taken during a robbery that occurred in the 100 block of Lafayette Street. The vehicle was located a short time after the incident and returned to the owner.

HARASSMENT (NON-MICA)  04/10/2022

Two people were observed harassing each other in front of the Lazarus Studio.  Baltimore City handled the incident. 

CIVIL COMPLAINT  04/08/2022

A student requested assistance from campus safety that turned out to be a civil matter. The student was given instructions on how to file a civil complaint with the courts. 

WELFARE CHECK  04/05/2022

A parent of a student requested a welfare check. Student was located and told to contact their parent.

ASSAULT AND ROBBERY (off-campus)  04/03/2022

A student reported being assaulted and having their vehicle taken by several juveniles while she was in the 1100 block of Park Avenue. Baltimore City Police were notified and Campus Safety assisted in the investigation.    

HARASSMENT  04/01/2022

A staff member alerted Campus Safety to harassing language located on a public display. The posted notes containing the harassing language was removed
