Statement
The Last Remark began as an attempt to prove to myself that I was capable of working with more serious subject matter, in this case mortality, love and closure. As production went on, though, and I found myself going back time and time again to rewrite, redesign and recut the film, it grew much more personal. The film in its current state is the product of months of pain and joy, and countless transformations which I feel have made those original themes with which I was "testing the waters" much more genuine.
Logline:
In his final hours, an old man escapes from the lifeless confines of a hospital, stealing an ambulance and leading police on a late-night chase into the depths of the wilderness. What is he after? Not action or wealth, but inner peace and a return to purer, simpler days.
