The 7800 sq foot Digital Fabrication Studio (dFab), located in the Mount Royal Station building, offers a variety of resources for students. The facility includes classroom space, a 16-seat PC computer lab, and a CNC printing lab and machine shop. Students can utilize equipment such as laser cutters, 3D printers, 3D scanners, CNC routers, and more. Keep in mind, dFab is a hands-on environment and prior knowledge is required for proper use of the equipment.
Remote Production Service Submission Form (RPS Link)
The Remote Production Service (RPS) is available to all students who have received an introduction through MICA Coursework. Student re-certification is not necessary each semester, so long as your files come in correctly;)
Students With Prior Experience
Come on down to the Computer Lab. Students with prior experience on this equipment should read our machine manuals and take our comprehension tests (returning soon) for the tool you would like to use prior to coming into the dFab lab.
Open Studio Schedule *subject to change
All dFab equipment is run from Rhino3d and taught through coursework. Students must take coursework that teaches equipment prior to accessing Open Studio Hours.
