Statement

My pursuits are in art education and filmmaking. I explore personal family dynamics, Peruvian cultural expressions, and methods for self-efficacy. My filmmaking is rooted in experimentation--exploring syntheses of traditional and digital animation, dance and performance, sound imagery, and costume design. My thesis “Solo en Rojo” (Only in Red) is an investigation into generational trauma, complex relationships, and moments in time. Painting has offered a bridge to my film work that examines memory, dreams, and lullabies. I'm influenced by intimate moments of reflection and uneasiness, which I think bring beauty to life.
