Statement
Damella is a designer interested in how people can affect and be affected by larger systems, and what it means to think about design in the context of social change.
Her capstone project is focused on how people with Endometriosis can find healing and effective treatment. She is interested in how people with Endometriosis and other chronic pain conditions are often dismissed by doctors and researchers. Furthermore, she is interested how gendered and racialized others are marginalized in our healthcare system. She hopes to learn what healing can look like, and how we can reimagine healthcare to be more accessible and equitable.
