Joining the Illustration faculty is illustrator and lettering artist Lisa Perrin. A proud graduate of the MFA Illustration Practice program, Perrin also holds a BFA in Drawing and Painting and a BA in English from SUNY New Paltz. Prior to joining academia, she spent five years as an in-house illustrator at American Greetings card company in Cleveland, OH. Her illustrations are often rich with exquisite detail exploring themes of nature, history, and femininity. At its heart, her work explores the old world in a new way, combining humor with darkness, and beauty with strangeness. Perrin’s work has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, 3x3 Magazine, and Print Magazine. Her clients include, Macy’s, Anthropologie, Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, Macmillan, Scholastic, The Saturday Evening Post, and Buzzfeed.com. Perrin is currently represented by Frank Sturges Reps. When she is not illustrating, she is spending time with her pet rabbit, performing improv comedy, looking for the best pizza in town, or enjoying live theater.
