In addition, Paul is Associate Professor of English at Baltimore City Community College, a position he has held since 2003.
Paul received his MFA in Creative Writing from Brown University and his MA in Secondary English Education from Columbia University Teachers College, after earning a BA in English from The University of Virginia.
Paul has published eighty-seven poems in thirty-two university and trade publications including American Letters & Commentary, Poetry New York, First Intensity, Fourteen Hills: The SFSU Review, Sonora Review and Fence. Paul's manuscript, A Piece of Wood Drawn From Memory, was a Finalist for the National Poetry Series 2000 Competition. Currently Paul is working on a collection of essay-poems and letters about the great American showman, P.T. Barnum, concerning Barnum's career at the American Museum in New York during the early 1850's, and his exploits afar as he traveled looking for oddities and amusements.
