Spear Hall

Spear Hall is named for Julia Spear, who introduced programming for women at MICA, and revolutionized the College's curriculum.

Julia Spear introduced programming for women at the school, ensuring that they could receive a Maryland Institute education. Beyond pioneering education for women, Spear revolutionized MICA's curriculum, and introduced many of the first significant fine arts classes and an arts education curriculum.
