Fulbright Overview (video)
The Institute of International Education (IIE) Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards full grants to visual artists for international study and independent research in over 140 countries. Applicants should begin the application process during Spring 2023 in order to apply when they return to campus in the fall.
• Final application deadline date: October 10, 2023
•Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
• Applicants must hold a B.A. or B.F.A. degree prior to the start date of the grant.
•Applicants must have sufficient proficiency in the written and spoken language of the host country to carry out the proposed project.
Basic Application Requirements
•Affiliation with a host institution or organization in foreign country
•Statement of proposed study or research (1 – 3 pages)
•Personal statement (1 page)
•10 page application packet with short Q & A paragraphs
•High quality work samples of an excellent body of artwork
•Three letters of recommendation

•Academic or professional record
•Portfolio work samples
•Feasibility of the proposed study project
•Establishment of Affiliation (one or more)
•Ability to meet campus deadlines
