Jumpstart* English is designed for multilingual students (in the summer before arrival at MICA) who would like the opportunity to polish their English language skills before the semester begins.
The class prepares students with the language skills they will need to successfully:
- discuss their art/design work with confidence,
- research using college library tools,
- develop their academic writing skills
- expand art/design vocabulary
- understand the culture of U.S. art/design institutions
Following the 3 week online program, there will be a one-day class at MICA for students to meet in person and apply the skills that they have been developing.
Schedule: Online, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, July 28 - August 15th, 7:00 am - 10:00 am EST
In person, August 18th for Graduate Students: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
In person, August 18th for Undergraduate Students: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

*Jumpstart is an idiom that means to start or improve something quickly by giving it extra help
