As a human resources executive for The Seed School of Maryland and Baltimore City Public Schools, Ali M. Ahmed is accustomed to influencing the way business decisions are made. Now MICA’s MBA/ MA program is helping him to embrace a more creative approach to decision making.
“I was initially researching an MBA, but I wanted to find a program that would differentiate me from others,” Ahmed said. Ahmed is particularly drawn to the pioneering aspect of the program. “ ‘Design thinking’ is a buzz word that is often thrown around with little or no understanding,” he said. “We will be part of a cohort that will provide a definition and an ideology.”
Collaborating with peers has been one of the highlights of the program, but Ahmed is most excited about what is to come. “I honestly think I will be able to go into most companies with my dual degree and bring progress and a new way of thinking,” he said.
