Hayelin Choi is a mission-driven designer, illustrator, and educator, with a passion for celebrating diverse culture and local communities.

Hayelin Choi made her illustration debut with Alice Waters and the Trip to Delicious, which earned a starred review from School Library Journal. She is also the author and author/illustrator of numerous children’s books published in China and South Korea, her native country. She is currently working as a designer+illustrator focusing on educational and non-profit organizations. Her work is guided by a strong belief in making information more accessible for all.

Amnesty International, UNICEF, Pentagram, The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore City Health Department, Readers to Eaters, Highlights for Children, Radish Lab, and City Parks Foundation.

 

She holds a B.F.A. from School of Visual Arts with a major in illustration and an M.F.A. from Maryland Institute College of Art with a major in graphic design.
