Join us Friday, September 22nd from 6-8pm for the Sondheim Semifinalists Exhibition reception in the Meyerhoff Gallery (Fox Building, Floor 1) & Pinkard Gallery (Bunting Center, Floor 1).  Light refreshments will be served. Open to the public, outside visitors may be asked to sign in at front desk of the respective building.

The Sondheim Semifinalists exhibition brings together artists from disciplines including painting, photography, sculpture, animation, and fiber craft. Named in honor of the philanthropists and civic leaders Janet and Walter Sondheim, the Sondheim exhibition is co-organized by Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, which serves as the city’s arts council, events producer, and film office, in addition to organizing free city-wide events. 

The eleven semifinalists selected for this year’s competition are Aliana Bailey, Amanda Burnham, Andersen Woof, David Page, Eleisha Faith & Tonisha Hope McCorkle (Faith & Hope), Elliot Doughtie, Giulia Livi, Jennifer Reed, Katherine Mann, Kelli Williams, and Rae Anna Hample.

Their work will be on view from Thursday, September 21 through Sunday, October 1 in the Pinkard Gallery (Bunting Center, Floor 1) and Meyerhoff Gallery (Fox Building, Floor 1).

Jurors for the 2023 competition are Kelly Baum, John and Mary Pappajohn Director of the Des Moines Art Center; Devin N. Morris, Brooklyn-based artist; and Ingrid Schaffner, Curator at Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas.

Campus Gallery Hours: Open to the public Monday - Sunday, 10AM - 5PM. Outside visitors can enter galleries after signing in at the front desk of the respective building. PLEASE NOTE: On weekends outside visitors will need to be accompanied by a MICA community member with a MICA ID in order to swipe and gain access into respective buildings.
