On Fugitivity: Place, [In]Visibility, and Speculative History

Dr. Brock, Scholar in Residence, is intrigued by the notion of Site, Sight, Cite, as proffered by the Space for Creative Black Imagination and Moten, Haartman, and Wilkerson’s theory of Fugitive Blackness. This second presentation by Dr. Lisa Brock will turn on what Place has meant in the context of the African Diaspora, why [In]visibility has often been a blessing, and how Black stories and memory should be cited as a basis for new fields of fugitive and Speculative Histories.
