FILM, CINEMA, MOVING PICTURES - this relatively young medium has framed so much of our modern era and has touched almost every part of the globe.To celebrate the variety of stories told in film, the OCI invites the MICA community to MOVING CULTURES, a film screening program that centers storytelling by and about people with uniqued lived experiences from a variety of different cultures On October 8th, from 6-8 in ABOX, we will be holding a film screen for the award winning animated documentary FLEE. The film was made directly from an interview with the director’s friend, with animated visuals to protect the identities of the speaker, "Amin Nawabi", and his family. It follows the story of an Afghani refugee as he flees from Afghanistan to Moscow to finally Denmark, where the effects of his trauma strain his relationship with his soon-to-be-husband.
