This mending workshop is held in conjunction with MICA’s Exhibition Design Seminar’s Exhibition:  Transcending Tradition: The Art of Elizabeth Talford Scott, and the MICA Quilt Group

This event is free and open to the MICA Community, however seating is limited so please complete this form to RSVP here.

Hosted by MICA in Decker Gallery, Fox Building, this workshop will showcase different mending techniques and educate people on various ways to create more sustainable practices with their garments. Elizabeth Talford Scott and daughter Joyce often mended their garments once worn through. With assistance from skilled MICA staff members, tutorials will guide attendees who bring in garments or fabrics they want to mend. This workshop will benefit anyone interested in learning how to mend clothes in the future. Those attending are welcome to bring in scrap material to trade and use for the mending process and personal sewing kits, but both will be provided in the program.
