This event will cover a range of historical and contemporary ideas about graphic design and civil rights. Individual presentations will be made, followed by a Q&A of panel members Ellen Lupton, Brockett Horne, Library of Congress Fellow and Designer Tahir Hemphill (on bias in algorithms), scholar Elizabeth Guffey (on design and disability), Designer and author Silas Munro (on the persuasive information visualizations of W.E.B. Dubois).
