It’s the College’s creative intensity, where disciplines intersect, making is central, and experimentation is expected.
“At MICA, students experience the intersections of disciplines and approaches,” says Raymond Barclay, senior vice president for enrollment strategy, innovation, and partnerships. “That hybrid experience, paired with intellectual rigor, allows them to push ideas further and take real creative risks.”
That cross-disciplinary energy shows up in how students move through the campus and through ideas. As Joseph “Joe” Taylor ’25 (General Fine Arts) puts it, “I felt like a creative secret agent, moving between buildings, talking with students in animation, sculpture, illustration. That cross-pollination kept things fresh.”
From integrating art and design with social and economic impact, to embracing interdisciplinary hubs and a global outlook, MICA empowers students to experiment boldly and shape what’s next. It’s a place where innovation, impact, and creative impact move the world forward.
