Colin Dunn

Colin Dunn began blending technology with design as an undergraduate at MICA and took that passion with him to Facebook after graduation. While there, he helped design and launch Graph Search before moving on to Dropbox, where he currently works as a product designer.

It’s hard to imagine a world without computers, smartphones, and the Internet. MICA alumni are finding creative ways to use their talents to enhance these digital environments.

Colin Dunn ’12 has been testing his chops in the software development space since his days at MICA when he created a mind-mapping web application for his senior thesis called Exobrain.

I’ve always been interested in technology and design, and I’ve been exploring the areas in which they intersect,”

Dunn said. MICA provided an environment where he could explore his interests in a constructive and positive way, including taking advantage of connections to different design studios.

Today, Colin is a product designer at Dropbox where he is working on tools like Project Harmony to make collaboration easier. Prior to Dropbox Colin worked at Facebook where he helped design and launch the first version of Graph Search: a new search engine from Facebook that allows you to search the social graph using natural language queries.
