The Language of Green

At MICA, green is more than a color; it’s a language.

Thesis work by Lindsey Caputo ’21 (Studio Art Summer Low-Residency MFA)

From luminous oil paintings and sustainable design projects to experimental textiles and digital media, green shows up across our studios as a symbol of growth, renewal, and bold creative possibility.

As we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, we’re reminded that in Irish culture, green represents resilience, landscape, and deep cultural pride. It’s the rolling hills. The spirit of reinvention. The courage to create something new.

That same spirit lives in our studios every day.

Here’s to art that grows, ideas that flourish, and a creative community that keeps finding new shades of possibility.
