Highlight from MICA’s 2026 Commencement ceremony

MICA’s 2026 Commencement ceremonies took place on Monday, May 18, at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Distinguished guests, family, friends, and members of the MICA community gathered to celebrate those who earned their degree requirements during the 2025-26 academic year. 

Recipients of the Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts included alumni Elizabeth Turk ’94 (Rinehart School of Sculpture MFA), Bora Shin ’04 (Graphic Design BFA), and Tedra Wilson/TT the Artist ’06 (General Fine Arts BFA).

Student speakers included Nyx Davis ’26 (Curatorial Practice MFA), Amaya Drew ’26 (Illustration MA), Marshall Moore ’26 (Mount Royal School of Art MFA0, Martin Knuppel ’26 (Illustration & Printmaking BFA), Artie Sadahiro ’26 (Ecosystems, Sustainability, & Justice BFA), Lys McKeithan ’26 (Animation BFA), and Tobias Baldinger ’26 (Animation BFA).
