Diagnosis Beneath the Surface explores how modern medical systems, while designed to improve health and save lives, have also made it easier to turn uncertainty and normal human variation into disease. While these tools can be lifesaving, they can also lead to overdiagnosis, unnecessary treatment, and prolonged anxiety, especially when certainty is limited. The project asks viewers to consider not only what medicine can detect, but what truly helps those living with medical uncertainty.
