Graduate Studies

Graduate Studies coordinates all of MICA's graduate programs for the MAT, MFA, and MA degrees and the post-baccalaureate certificate programs, in consultation with MICA's Center for Art Education and the School of Professional and Continuing Studies, to provide supplemental services for the graduate community as whole.

Graduate Studies serves as a major resource in the identification of activities, resources, and opportunities within the MICA community and the Baltimore.

Graduate students receive assistance with graduate student registration and extensive advising, in collaboration with the Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development, for special opportunities such as Fulbright, Soros, Javits, and Jack Kent Cooke Graduate fellowships, as well as MICA Graduate Fellowships and Grant opportunities.

Additionally, the office administers an active series of MFA Visiting Artist lectures, as well as workshops and demonstrations, in partnership with the Graduate Research Lab and Wood and Metal Shops, to bring the latest digital and fabrication techniques to a graduate student's studio practice.

Graduate Student Community Forums, in partnership with Graduate Student Union, a student-elected governing body, are a regular occurrance on the Graduate Studies calendar. Each forum gives student's direct access to MICA's administration, including the Provost, Vice-Provost and the President, to better understand and address student issues as they arise and keep up-to-date on campus events, thesis preparation, exhibitions, fellowships and artist residencies.
