Graduate Studies

The Office of Graduate Studies provides administrative and academic support for graduate programs.  Our office coordinates MICA's  MA, MFA, and Post-Baccalaureate programs, advocating for students with the goal of ensuring excellence in the delivery of educational programs, services, and opportunities.

Gwynne Keathley, Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Studies

Erin Jakowski, Associate Dean
• Answers questions regarding graduate academic policies and procedures
• Organizes the schedule of courses
• Graduate Advisor and course registration
• Problem solve areas of academic/behavioral concern
• Academic Warnings and Student Leave of Absence
• Administer Graduate Competitive Fellowships
• Grad Show oversight

Marcus Civin, Associate Dean
• Oversees graduate elective offerings, ELL and You+ coursework
• Works with faculty to advance diversity in the graduate curriculum
• Oversees new concentrations in graduate programs
• Supports faculty with assessment of student learning

Morgan Kempthorn, Assistant Director
• Manages Graduate Program Assistants
• Oversees Orientation (year round)
• Graduate fall shows organization
• Contact for students for MICA GRAD SHOW planning
• Contact for Graduate Student Council, clubs and pop-ups
• Coordinates the 1st Year MFA Juried Show

Cristina Gonçalves, Assistant Director
• Maintains graduate program budgets
• Facilitates payment paperwork and purchases
• Point person for facilities issues in Lazarus Center and MICA PLACE
• Graduate Newsletter Submissions/Publication
• Graduate Studies website and communications

Drew Lundholm, Program Coordinator
• Facilitates Visiting Artist Lecture Series
• Organizes graduate faculty housing
• Collects syllabi & assessment materials
• Facilitates graduate textbook adoptions
• Coordinates graduate course evaluations
• Supports Grad MIX Lecture series and common academic activities
• Arranges catering and room reservations
• Graduate Research Development Grants

Katie Faulstich, Executive Assistant
• Manages the calendars and scheduling for Dean and Vice Provost
• Supports Research Committee
• Completes special reporting for the Art Education programs
• Supports contract management and grant applications
