The MICA Student Health Center is an outpatient primary health care facility that provides comprehensive medical care for both acute and stable chronic illness, preventative medical care and health education services.

NOTICE : The Student Health Center will be open for administrative services only from April 3rd thru April 9th. Normal clinical operations will resume on April 10th, 2026. If you need medical attention during this time, please proceed to a local urgent care center. A list of local urgent care centers can be found towards the bottom of this page, Transportation assistance is available free of charge by calling campus safety at 443-423-3333. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911.

Mandatory Vaccination Requirement for Students in Spring 2026

Students are required to submit a Health History form and documentation of all MICA required vaccinations by February 1, 2026.

REQUIRED immunizations and screening:

Tetanus and Diphtheria: Tdap within the last 10 years
Measles, mumps, and rubella: vaccination dates (2 doses) or positive blood lab titers
Varicella (Chickenpox): vaccination dates (2 doses) or positive blood lab titers
Meningococcal Quadrivalent (ACWY): vaccine date (1 dose) or waiver for all students living in on- campus housing. Students will not be allowed to enter the on-campus housing until proof of meningitis vaccination or a medical/religious waiver is received.
Tuberculosis Screening (TB): Mandatory tuberculosis screening for all students. If you answer “Yes” to any of the online screening questions, you will need to print off the Tuberculosis Clinical Assessment form and have it completed and signed by your healthcare provider and reuploaded back into Medicat.

COVID vaccination is no longer required at MICA but is still recommended.

Login to the MICA Medicat Student Health portal , using your MICA credentials, to document, complete, and upload all required health forms and vaccination information.

International students who cannot obtain certain vaccines, such as Tetanus, due to supply shortages in their home country, can email the MICA student health center at studenthealth@mica.edu to request a temporary exemption until arrival in the US. . Students may also request medical and religious exemptions. The deadline to submit a medical or religious exception request for internal review is Sunday, February 1, 2026.

STI Testing (Sexually Transmitted Diseases)

The MICA student Health Center provides comprehensive screening exams, testing and treatment for all MICA students. Our staff and medical providers are experts in college health and understand the importance of providing sensitive service to our students in a safe and confidential environment.

Medication Management

The staff of the MICA Student Health Services is pleased to assist students under the care of a home medical provider with medication management while attending school in Baltimore, Maryland.

Cost of Visit

There is no charge for standard health visits for full-time enrolled students, which are covered by your student life fees; however, the are fees for lab work, immunizations, and procedures.

Referrals & Specialty Care

Clinicians will refer students to medical specialists and imaging centers whenever necessary. Referred specialists will be determined primarily by the student’s insurance coverage.

Current COVID Guidelines

In March 2024, the CDC released its current COVID guidelines, shifting from the need to isolate for five days before returning to work or school to a more flexible period of isolation in line with symptoms.

Pharmacy

The majority of prescriptions given at the MICA student health center can be electronically sent to a local pharmacy at the request of the student. Chase Brexton has a pharmacy located within our Mt. Vernon Center (1111 North Charles St.) which is available to all MICA students.
