I'm a graphic designer and illustrator interested in incorporating an intersectional feminist perspective into my design work.
I have created a dinner party concept that tells a story about the destiny of all women: utter consumption. I depict women confronting their fate in colorful illustrations and patterns, interacting with what is expected of them: femininity and passivity, represented with floral visuals. Through a playful narrative, I hope this project will force men, who regularly perpetuate objectification, to reexamine their gaze. I can see parallels between the way we prepare food for a plate and how women prepare their bodies to be looked at, and I want you to see that too.
