“Institutions do not endure for two centuries by standing still. They endure by responding again and again to the needs of the moment. [...] We offer a rigorous foundation in the fine arts, layered with liberal arts and extended through deep work in each major. Our goal is to develop the mind of the artist, to help students decide not only what to make, but why and where that work belongs in our world. And that is why I am so excited about this bicentennial.
