A Message from MICA’s president Cecilia M. McCormick, J.D.
Every May, the weekend before Commencement, MICA transforms its campus along Mount Royal Avenue into a vibrant gallery for ArtWalk. Over the past 17 years, this four-day celebration has become one of Baltimore’s largest public displays of visual art and one of the college’s most beloved traditions.
ArtWalk is more than an exhibition; it’s a milestone, a celebration, and a send-off. Hundreds of graduating undergraduate students showcase their culminating work across disciplines, including painting, photography, sculpture, animation, illustration, and game design, providing a compelling glimpse into the future of visual culture.
From festive opening night events featuring food trucks and live entertainment to quiet moments of discovery at individual shows, ArtWalk offers an immersive experience that celebrates imagination, mentorship, and community at the heart of MICA. This citywide cultural highlight attracts thousands of visitors each year — from family and friends to collectors, industry professionals, alumni, and art enthusiasts.
Whether supporting a student, discovering new talent, or simply enjoying one of Baltimore’s most dynamic cultural traditions, ArtWalk offers an unforgettable opportunity to witness the next generation of artists and designers stepping into their futures.
