A partnered course can begin in two ways: you may already have an external partner and opportunity, or the D+I Hub can help you identify and develop a potential partnership.

Start by sharing “Working with MICA on a Partnered Course” with the prospective partner. This short orientation explains what a partnered course is, what students bring, what MICA and the partner can expect from one another, and how a course might create opportunities for continued work Beyond the Classroom.

The next step is to understand the partner's interest, needs, and goals. The Partner Inquiry Form gives the partner an opportunity to describe their organization, the opportunity or challenge they want to explore, why it matters, and what they hope to gain from the experience. Faculty can share the form with a prospective partner and help them complete it as needed.

If the opportunity is a good fit, the faculty member and external partner will work together to develop the course.
