Safety
For students on campus over the weekend, please be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear if you leave the residence halls. It will be very slippery. We expect snow, freezing rain, ice, and extreme temperatures.
For Staff:
Staff who can telework are expected to do so. If a staff member who has an approved hybrid or remote work arrangement needs to flex their working hours during inclement weather, they must inform and communicate with their department or supervisors so that appropriate coverage and planning can occur. To accommodate telework employees who may be experiencing weather-event-related challenges—such as dependents with delayed school openings or school closures—liberal leave is in effect, which means that an employee can use their individual accrued leave (personal, floating, or vacation) for hours not worked. This applies to telework employees.
Since conditions around campus may change throughout the weekend, MICA will continue to monitor the weather forecast and communicate any changes via email, on the MICA/App, or on the website at www.mica.edu. For more information about MICA's Inclement Weather policies and procedures, please visit: www.mica.edu/weatherfaq.
