Across campus, the air buzzed with the sound of creation — screens being pulled, ink mixed by hand, sketches unfolding into fashion concepts, and stories taking shape frame by frame. MICA Weekend’s workshops opened studio doors wide, inviting participants into the living rhythm of making that defines the College. Led by faculty, alumni, and guest artists, the sessions spanned the spectrum of contemporary practice, from screen printing and risograph design to animation filmmaking, ink-making, comics, fashion sketching, and creative entrepreneurship. Every space pulsed with energy, curiosity, and the unmistakable joy of collective experimentation.
More than technical demonstrations, these workshops were experiences of connection between disciplines, generations, and ideas. Alumni worked side by side with current students, rediscovering the feel of paper and pigment; parents tried their hand at the same processes that first drew their children to MICA.
As MICA approaches its 200th anniversary, these moments capture the essence of the College’s enduring spirit — a community forever in motion, learning through doing, and finding meaning in the act of making together.
