Film & Video (Studio Minor)

The Film and Video Minor explores the possibilities of the moving image artform at a 200 year old art institution, where conceptualization meets technical proficiency with modern, and legacy, filmmaking tools.

Students engage critically and expansively with the moving image, working across short fiction, non-fiction, and experimental projects, as they learn everything from cutting-edge software and equipment to writing screenplays and editing 16mm film by hand. Personal expression, critical inquiry, technology and craftsmanship join to create exciting projects. Whether interested in gallery-based installations, narrative film, motion picture industry production, or commercial and community-based works, the Film & Video Minor supports your goals.
