Applying for Financial Assistance:

Please send an email to fiberfashiontextile@mica.edu with “FFT Dust Bunny Fund” in the subject.

Any student who is facing financial hardship can apply for multiple Fiber classes to be covered. The Fiber, Fashion, and Textile Department has a Friends of Fiber fund that alumni, friends of the department, and department faculty have donated to this fund to support our students. This is an unequivocal commitment from the department to help subsidize the cost of materials it takes to learn techniques related to our major, and we want to be clear and transparent regarding our current capacity.

Students who are experiencing financial hardship may apply for full coverage “FFT Dust Bunny Funding” by submitting a brief proposal request (list materials with costs from the MICA store) to demonstrate need of funding. Funds are limited for this total coverage and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis until the funds are depleted.

Process

-Please email fiberfashiontextile@mica.edu with your request by Monday, September 21st (after Drop/Add)

We will email instructions after requests have been received).
