The Writing Studio is a free, one-on-one tutoring service for all current MICA students and alumni looking to work on their writing. We can assist with any project - academic essays, resumes and cover letters, grants, personal projects, scripts, poems, graduate theses, and more.

The Writing Studio is physically located in Room 180 in the Bunting Center, but we have plenty of online tutoring availability as well.

Sessions usually last 50 minutes. Double sessions are sometimes possible. Walk-ins are welcome, but scheduled appointments are recommended.

Visit our appointment page to find a time that works for you.

Yes! Anyone can sign up for online tutoring.

Visit our appointment page to find a time that works for you.

The only requirement is that you bring a willingness to learn! However, if you are working from an assignment or prompt, please bring the details so that the tutor can go over the requirements with you. Feel free to share a draft of your work (if you have one) with your tutor in advance. They may or may not have time to read through it before your session, but sharing work in advance will streamline the start of your session.

If you are looking for your work to be edited or proofread, you must schedule an appointment for a tutor to do that with you in real time. This is the best way to learn and improve your writing!

For virtual sessions, you'll need a reliable internet connection and access to Zoom.

Unfortunately, our services are only for MICA students and alums.
