Master of Professional Studies in UX Design

Now Offering New Tracks

The Master of Professional Studies in UX Design prepares creative and analytical thinkers to design meaningful digital products, services, and experiences. Specialize in the following tracks: Research, Strategy, Design, or create your own.

The UX Research Track prepares students for roles focused on research planning, usability evaluation, and data-driven product insights. The three courses in this track address the full methodological breadth of professional UX research practice — encompassing evaluative, quantitative, and field-based research — and develop the ability to translate empirical evidence into design and strategic recommendations.

The UX Strategy Track prepares students to work at the intersection of design practice, business strategy, and product leadership. The three courses develop the ability to connect UX decisions to organizational outcomes, design complex multi-touchpoint service experiences, and contribute to long-term product vision and roadmap development.

The UX Design Track develops advanced competency in interface design, design systems, motion design, and prototyping — the technical and craft skills required for professional product design practice. Students graduating from this track are equipped to work as product designers, interaction designers, and visual design system developers in modern digital product environments.

Students who elect the Design Your Own Track may construct a custom specialization by selecting any three elective courses from the defined UX Research, UX Strategy, or UX Design tracks, or from approved MPS courses offered across the institution. This option allows students to construct a curriculum precisely aligned with specific professional goals — for example, a student targeting design operations, conversational UX, or digital accessibility might draw from multiple tracks, or a student from an adjacent field might incorporate courses from another MPS program.
