The Washington Post features MICA alumni group Baltimore Development Cooperative (BDC), which stimulates community formation and social change through the group's Stew dinners. MICA faculty member Hugh Pocock is also highlighted for his sustainability classes, inspired by BDC.

Fatin’s father, shot at by militia members while living in Baghdad, Iraq, has been left paralyzed and in urgent need of a lifesaving surgery.
