Leeah Joo is a Korean-American painter who explores themes of cross-cultural experiences by combining Eastern and Western painting traditions. She received her B.F.A. in painting and B.A. in art history from Indiana University and M.F.A. in painting from Yale School of Art. Recipient of grants from Pollock-Krasner, George Sugarman and Puffin Foundation, her paintings and drawings have been exhibited at Frye Art Museum, Seoul Art Center and Gallery Korea of New York. Before coming to MICA, she has taught at KCAI, Fairfield University and Southern Connecticut State University.
