Howie Lee Weiss

Howie Lee Weiss has received high praise for his artwork in such publications as the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Baltimore Sun, and the Baltimore City Paper. A Pennsylvania native, Mr. Weiss earned his MFA from Yale University School of Art and Architecture and his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art.

A professor at the Maryland Institute for the past twenty-six years, he has a large following in teaching drawing & painting in addition to being Coordinator of the Senior Thesis Program.

Mr. Weiss also serves as faculty for the MICA Summer Abroad Program located in Sorrento, Italy. He is a frequent visting critic and lecturer at numerous colleges and universities, including Princeton, Vassar, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the University of Pennsylvania, Moore College of Art, and The Corcoran School of Art. His artwork has been exhibited in galleries in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, as well as in Italy and Japan, where he lectured in conjunction with an exhibit of his works.

A five-time recipient of the Maryland state Individual Artist Fellowship, Howie Lee Weiss' art has been featured at Goya Contemporary in Baltimore where he most recently exhibited several editions of prints along with his trademark drawings.
