This event is free and open to the public and will be promoted widely to MICA Weekend registrants as well as the Baltimore community at large as a unique opportunity to browse and discover high quality art, design, illustration, film and works in progress from our current students in MICA's renowned graduate programs.
All graduate students are encouraged to participate.
- Students who have studios in Lazarus Center are encouraged to open their studios to the public.
- Students who do not have assigned studio spaces in Lazarus including our Open Studies programs, Summer Low Residency and students outside the Lazarus Center - will be given access to space on the 1st floor of the Lazarus Center.
- Graduate Studies will provide tables, chairs, and wall space for students to create a display of your work.
- Work can not be shipped/stored and participants must be present for the duration of the event.
In addition, we are excited to share the Graduate Student Voice Association will host three workshops and programs led by MICA graduate students during Open Studios including: Jessie Houff, paper making workshop; Frances Wertimer, Oral History Listening Booth; Julia Hsia, interactive knot-making artwork
