The Office of Institutional Research and Analytics (OIRA) supports institutional enrollment management, assessment, program review, accreditation, and academic planning by collecting, integrating, analyzing, and reporting varied institutional data and information. We also respond to requests for institutional data from state and federal agencies and other external organizations.
Our goal is to maintain a robust history of institutional and comparative data, provide strong analytical support for evidence-based decision-making, and strengthen the integrity and governance of information for use by the MICA community.
OIRA's public reports provide official statistics about the MICA across a range of topics. OIRA is not authorized to provide information about individuals, such as lists or rosters. For such inquiries, please reach out to the appropriate office, such as the Office of the Registrar or Human Resources.
Basic information requests are usually completed within 1 to 2 weeks. More complex analyses may take several months to finish. OIRA prioritizes information requests based on the availability of data on our OIRA website and our current workload at the time of your request.
Most of these databases are prepared by State or federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the National Science Foundation. OIRA will update this list periodically. Please bookmark it and share it with colleagues because it’s sure to come in handy.
MICA College profiles are based primarily on information supplied by the colleges themselves through participation in the College Board's BigFuture Profile Management higher education data collection portal, with some data provided via federal and state agencies. Costs, dates, policies, and programs are subject to change, so please confirm important facts with college admission personnel.
The College Affordability and Transparency Center (CATC) was created by the U.S. Department of Education to comply with the Higher Education Opportunity Act and to provide students and parents with better information about college costs. It is maintained by the Office of Postsecondary Education and receives support and technical assistance from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
The U.S. News directory contains more than 1,700 bachelor's-granting colleges and universities you can search to find information on each school's location, size, cost, academic offerings and financial aid policies.
The Data Feedback Report is intended to provide institutions with a context for examining the data they submitted to IPEDS. The purpose of this report is to provide institutional executives with a useful resource and to help improve the quality and comparability of IPEDS data.
