Application requirements

After submitting your application, you will receive an email with instructions for submitting your supporting materials.
Applicants must submit transcripts and at least one of the following:
A Portfolio, Statement of Purpose, or Audio/Visual Introduction.
Submit whichever format—or combination of formats—best represents your background, experiences, and preparation for graduate study.
Candidates may submit a PDF portfolio demonstrating skills relevant to the program. The portfolio should be a single PDF file showcasing projects, presentations, design work, writing samples, or other professional or creative work relevant to the program. Please include a brief description of the content for additional context.
The portfolio will be reviewed by the Graduate Review Committee as one option for demonstrating your preparation, experience, and potential for success in the program.
Please provide a written statement describing your interest in the program. In your response, discuss how your academic, professional, or creative background has prepared you to succeed in this course of study.
Describe how you plan to apply the skills and knowledge gained through the program to advance your professional and creative goals.
Applicants may submit a recorded audio or video introduction as an alternative to—or in addition to—a written Statement of Purpose. This option provides an accessible way to share your experiences while addressing the same topics.
Your recording should discuss your interest in the program; how your academic, professional, or creative background has prepared you to succeed in this course of study; and how you plan to apply the skills and knowledge gained through the program to advance your professional and creative goals.
An official transcript from the institution that granted your most recent degree will be required if you are admitted and choose to matriculate. The transcript submitted during the application process may be unofficial.
If you have not earned an undergraduate degree, please include your highest earned complete transcript and a transcript—unofficial or official—from each institution where you have earned credit. This enables the admissions committee to effectively assess your academic history and preparedness. Transcripts may reflect complete or in-progress coursework.
Our holistic review process accommodates all learners, including those whose focus may have changed since college. It relies more on the individual courses taken than on a single metric such as GPA.
International candidates whose primary language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English. Additionally, certified translations of all transcripts and school documentation must be provided.
