Once the Partnered Course Outline (PCO) has been completed, the Design + Innovation Hub coordinates the agreements, funding, and administrative processes needed to support the partnered course.

Faculty are responsible for identifying the anticipated needs of the course—not developing budgets or negotiating funding with external partners. Using the completed PCO, the Hub works with the appropriate MICA offices to develop partnership agreements, determine course support, prepare budgets, and coordinate any required institutional approvals.

Partner contributions support the educational experience and the resources needed to deliver a high-quality partnered course. They are not a fee for instructional services or student work. Depending on the partnership, support may include financial contributions, in-kind goods or services, or a combination of both.

As the D+I Hub continues to pilot partnered courses, these agreements and budgeting processes will continue to evolve. This section introduces the current approach and provides examples of the documents the Hub develops to support each partnership.
