  • Atomic Books - A local bookstore that specializes in comics and art books! Some comics even come from local Bmore artists! 
  • The Book Thing - A once a month giveaway of free books! A volunteer run event of a completely free giveaway of as many books as you can carry of donated books!
  • Red Emma’s -  A local bookstore and coffeehouse for radical literature and meaningful dialogue while you can snack on 100% vegan food options
  • Enoch Pratt Free Library - Baltimore's public library where there is a giant selection of various books! Free for everyone just have to sign up for a library card  
  • Peabody Library - Peabody Library is a special collections library on Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Institute campus in Mount Vernon, need to show a government ID to enter but a beautiful library everyone should experience! 
  • Greedy Reads - A local indie bookstore!
  • The Ivy Bookstore- A community green gathering space anchored by a vibrant bookstore, where they have lots of local books and local author talks! 

Foodie Things

  • Lexington Market - One of Baltimore’s public markets where you can get a snack, buy some groceries, or sit down for a memorable meal. 
  • Farmer’s Markets (Waverly, 83, Druid Hill and more) - Numerous farmers markets that sell locally grown produce! Great place to also drop off compost and talk to local farmers and artists!
  • Crab Cakes - Maryland makes them best! They are patties made of lots of crab, breadcrumbs, mayo, and spices.
  • Lemon Sticks - A combination of a soft peppermint stick and half a lemon that's been a Baltimore tradition for over a century, they have them at the flower mart every year!
  • Eat a snowball - Snowballs are shaved ice covered with flavored syrup and a dollop of marshmallow on top! Snowball stands are all over Baltimore so if you find a stand give them a try, egg custard is one of my favorite flavors.

  • Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Experience themed concerts by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and other visiting artists.
  • Theater at Hippodrome - Catch a broadway show or other cool performances.
  • Everyman Theatre -  Independent theatre with local charm and affordable pricing.
  • The Lyric - Another venue steps from MICA’s campus that hosts music, dance, comedy, youth-centric, and educational programming.
  • Live Jazz at Keystone Corner - The premier spot for live jazz in the city.
  • Live Concert at CFG Bank Arena -  This 14,000 seat auditorium  hosts the top musicians and comedians in the nation.
  • Go to a Baltimore Orioles  game - Orioles Park at Camden Yards has been rated one of the best ballparks in the nation.
  • Go to a Baltimore Ravens game - Enjoy the game and root alongside mascots Edgar, Allen and Poe.
  • Baltimore Improv Group - They host free and paid shows, as well as classes and workshops!
