At MICA, we celebrate and welcome the continued involvement of parents and families who want to make a difference.

The MICA Parent & Family Council is a vibrant group of parents of current students and young alumni. With about 40 active members, the Council represents the voice of MICA families, strengthens the student experience, and sets a leadership example through advocacy, volunteer engagement, and philanthropic support.

Our Mission

The Parent & Family Council is dedicated to ensuring that every student has the best possible MICA experience. Members:

• Serve as ambassadors for the parent and family community, bringing forward ideas and perspectives that matter to families

• Build connections between parents, students, and the College to share insights and important information

• Lead and participate in projects that directly support the student experience

• Champion MICA’s mission, vision, and values, helping shape the next generation of artists and designers

We see the Parent & Family Council as a bridge between families and the College community. Together, we:

• Create a welcoming, inclusive space for all parents and families

• Support programs and initiatives that meet the evolving needs of students and families

• Advocate for MICA’s impact and the value of an arts education

• Share internships, professional networks, and career opportunities for MICA students

• Listen, support, and guide families who are navigating the college journey

• Inspire parent giving campaigns that directly benefit students
