The aim of non-clinical case management is to identify relevant resources to assist students in navigating their current situation through 1:1 meetings with SOS staff.
Office of Student Outreach and Support (SOS) provides non-clinical case management meetings to students seeking guidance and support when a health, life or personal concerns begin to impact their academics. No documentation is required to meet with SOS staff for non-clinical case management support.
These meetings are designed to be goal driven, based on the goals a student has shared, to assist them in strategizing and making a plan to move forward in their time at MICA with a holistic understanding of the unique factors or concerns in a student's life or health that could be impacting their engagement with in their studies.
Meeting early with SOS when a concern starts to develop often provide students with more options than waiting for a situation to resolve on its own or until a crisis situation develops.
