Canvas is where you can find your syllabus, digital learning resources and access to assignments.
Canvas is only accessible using your MICA email credentials, not your personal email.
Please note not all workshops will require use of Canvas.

One week prior to your class
email Campus Safety at idcards@mica.edu with a headshot image of you in jpeg format (.jpg), your full name and MICA ID number.
Once your ID is ready Campus Safety will contact you to come pick up your ID at the Campus Safety office.

On the first day of class, Faculty will provide students with a course syllabus, which will include a list of materials needed for the course. Please contact your faculty for any questions regarding the materials in your syllabus.
To Note:
Materials are not provided for classes and must be purchased by the student.
Some courses may require a materials fee to cover some of the materials needed for class.
Supplies and materials can be purchased in person or online at MICA’s Art Store: https://shop.mica.edu. Hours of operation for in person shopping are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturdays.
Please be mindful of any shipping/delivery times that may impact when you receive the materials.
Canvas is MICA’s Learning Management System. It is your go to place for engaging with and receiving feedback from your instructor and classmates as well as the hub for all digital learning resources
Your MICA Canvas Dashboard: Canvas is only accessible using your MICA email credentials, not your personal email.
Note: Students lose access to Canvas approximately 10 days after the end of the term. Below you can find additional information: You can download the course content to view offline as an HTML file. Directions are here or here. This does not include submissions or instructor feedback. If anything can only be viewed online it will show an icon next to it. Anything unpublished will not be exported. Assignment Submissions for all courses (past and present) - Download as a zip folder from your account page. Directions are found here. If you sign up for courses in the future, you can access course content from previous enrollments.
Course syllabi, zoom links for online classes, assignments, and homework will be available via Canvas

All online remote courses will be conducted via Zoom which can be accessed via the link on the left hand side of your Canvas course.
Adobe Creative Suite Software will be provided to students enrolled in courses that utilize this software.
Some instructors may also use Google Drive and Gmail to document and request you to upload work. Please use your MICA credentials to access each.

Option 3 - Purchase in person: If you would like the option to purchase a parking permit to park on any of MICA’s lots during the evenings and on weekends please visit the Campus Safety office during regular business hours to obtain your permit.
Parking Accessibility
There are disability parking spaces in each lot on campus and they are identified with blue paint and markings as well as disability signage. MICA parking permit holders with Disability permits or tags may park only in the marked spaces in the lots, and at the times for which their permit provides access. Please note that there are also disability spaces on Mt. Royal Avenue and that parking meters are free to Disability permit or tag holders.
For “Temporary Special Needs Parking,” faculty/staff should contact the Human Resources Department, People Belonging and Culture at 410-225-2363. Students with disability parking needs should first contact the office of Accessibility and Disability Services ads@mica.edu.

Almost all life drawing studio etiquette is based around respect for the model. Remember, the model is putting themselves in a vulnerable position for the benefit of the artists, so keeping models safe and comfortable is important. Please show the utmost respect for all models at all times:
Do not take photos or videos that include the model.
Do not ask the model if they provide modeling outside of the class time.
Do not touch or approach the model at any time, or engage in any conversations with them; including before, during or after the drawing session.

Refund Policy:
You may request a full refund if you are not satisfied with the course offering. Please fill out this form if you would like to drop your course.
No refund will be offered after the start of the second class.
Withdrawal Deadlines
4 sessions or fewer: before second class
8-10 sessions: before third class
More than 10 sessions: before sixth class
