Ask me about: Community Art and Service Program and Community Site Leader position

Elli Maria Hernandez is a Latinx mixed-media artist and arts administrator based in Baltimore. She recently joined as the Coordinator of Community Arts & Service in MICA’s Center for Student Engagement. Previously, she worked as the Gallery & Programs Coordinator at Howard County Arts Council where she managed gallery exhibits, class and camp programs, and more. Armed with a passion for engaging with local communities through art, she has also worked at City of Gaithersburg, Positive Energy Art Studio, YMCA, VisArts Center, Artscape, and Homestead Farm. She holds a BFA in Art & Design from Towson University and AFA in Studio Art from Montgomery College.

In her artistic practice, she experiments across different mediums - blurring the lines between photography, painting, printmaking, drawing, collage, and more - to explore themes of time, memories, identity, and trauma. Her artwork has been featured in galleries and public spaces in the Baltimore-DC-metro area. In her spare time, Elli can be found camping across the East Coast, tending to her many plants, or playing in local pinball competitions.
