MICA offers a variety of funding to Full-time and Part-time Faculty that can help initiate or complete projects, advance skills towards teaching, and share your research or creative work.

Updated:  The Spring 22 Lucas Grant Application Deadline is March 9th.

Lucas Grants for Faculty Teaching & Curriculum Development for funding up to $2,000 are available for AY20-21.

Lucas Grants for Faculty Teaching & Curriculum Development are intended to fund projects that directly contribute to the improvement of curriculum and teaching at MICA.

Marcella Brenner Grants for Faculty Development and Research fund projects that contribute to the faculty member's professional, creative, or scholarly research and development.

Updated: Spring 22 Adjunct Fund Application Deadline is March 30.

The Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Fund grants funding to support activities and resources that contribute to adjunct faculty members’ professional, creative, or scholarly research and development. The Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Fund was established specifically for adjunct faculty as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between MICA and SEIU Local 500, August 2015-June 30, 2018. With the ratification of the new 3-year agreement in October 2018, the total amount of this funding was increased from $6,667 to $12,500 per year and the amount that an individual could receive in a single academic year was increased from $600 to $1,000.

Grants for Faculty Research and Creative Development deadline is February 2nd.

The Grant for Faculty Research and Creative Development provides funding up to $5,000 to help faculty initiate significant projects or advance larger-scale creative, academic, and scholarly projects.

This grant invites applications for:

-funding towards research expenses, such as materials or travel, up to $5,000

-time in the form of a course substitution to undertake work for a significant project.

The Ratcliffe Center for Creative Entrepreneurship (RCCE) Faculty Teaching Grants provides up to $600 in funding to support courses that infuse entrepreneurial concepts into curriculum and teaching​ ​at MICA.

The Center for Creative Citizenship's grant programs provide MICA students, faculty, and staff with funding to initiate or enhance community engagement projects and activities of their own design. Projects can be curricular or co-curricular, but they must engage a community partner or respond to a compelling community opportunity or need.

The Stanley Rosen Faculty Development Endowment in 1998 with a gift from Madalyn Rosen through the Rosen-Gold Family Philanthropic Fund in memory of Madalyn's husband, Stanley Rosen.

This grant of $500 is awarded annually to a deserving faculty member who is identified by the Grants Committee from their review of the spring applications for the Brenner Grants for Faculty Development & Research.

 

The Research Initiation Grants and Cultural Expansion Grants are on hold at this time.
