MICA’s Pre-College Summer Intensive combines studio classes, workshops and artist talks to give students a transformative summer experience all while earning college credits and learning from MICA faculty! Create memories while enhancing your art and design skills at our one-of-a-kind summer experience for students age 15-17.

Three Easy Steps

Complete the Application ($25 fee)

Submit 4 Pieces of Art/Design Work

Get Accepted & Deposit!
Once accepted, students are required to submit a $250 non-refundable deposit (goes towards session cost) to secure their spot in MICA's Pre-College Summer Intensive .

Early Application Deadline: January 5, 2026
Final Application Deadlines: April 30, 2026

2-Week Session One

July 13 through July 24

Residential participants move in/move out dates: July 12, July 25

Studio Class Options:

2D Digital Animation, Darkroom Film Photography, Drawing the Figure, Graphic Design, Illustration: Crafting Stories and Characters, Illustration: Graphic Novels and Comics, Product Design and Innovation, Studio Exploration, Textile and Fashion Fundamentals.

2-Week Session Two

July 27 through August 7

Residential participants move in/move out dates: July 26, August 8

Studio Class Options:

3D Animation, Ceramics: Throw, Fire, Glaze, Digital Photography: Color and Light, Game Development and Design, Interdisciplinary Art, Painting the Figure, Screen Printing and Design, Studio Exploration.

4-Week Session

July 13 through August 7
Overnight participants move-in/move-out dates: July 12, August 8
